I’m trying to read as fast as possible because my book club is tomorrow, and I procrastinated because when I have to read a book, I suddenly don’t want to, even though it’s literally a book I had already wanted to read. Anyway, it’s good so far. 💙📚

I just finished The Devil Wears Tartan by Katia Rose. It’s a sapphic enemies to lovers romance about dancers who grew up as rivals in Canadian Scottish Highland dance competitions. It was an enjoyable read that explores how trauma and the need for self acceptance impact their relationship. 💙📚🌶️

I gonna need, like, everyone to go read Noor by Nnedi Okorafor. She’s fucking brilliant. Noor is a scathing indictment of capitalism’s attack on the people, cultures, and environment of Africa and an engaging read with fantastic worldbuilding.

I’m going to start Death of the Author now. 💙📚🪐

I didn’t finish many books last month, but the books I finished were great! I have a stack of books to finish for work and another stack of books that people recommended this month that I’d like to get to, so I’m hoping I’m in the right mental space to read more this month.
StoryGraph stats: I read Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel (a novel) and Crumbs by Danie Stirling (a graphic novel). Both books were 5 stars.
