Then take public transit--if you hate traffic, stop contributing to it. I shit on TO all the time, but I have no time for someone who is shitting on TO while supporting the likes of Uber.

The city is fine. It's Uber that blows. They're evil. Take a cab.

That travel advisory is negligent. It reads like it was developed by and for cis white men exclusively and everyone else can just fend for themselves.

I sure will.

A good argument for a new series: Six Years Ago Tonight With John Oliver.

Political leaders will re-announce previously announced investments all the time to make it sound like they're doing things. Often the same investments get announced several times (National Housing Strategy funds are a great example of this).

Thanks for this. Just add, Trump is following Russia's Ukraine playbook when it comes to Canada: www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

Donad Trump's threats and claims about Canada may be unprecedented in the history of U.S.-Canada relations. But they have a strong precedent elsewhere in recent history: They closely resemble remarks ...

Is anyone? I'm not looking for a geri of social or economic justice. Just someone who won't welcome/invite a fascist takeover.

Kamala wasn't great either, but I can't be the only one who wishes she was President right now.

Liquor retail looks very different in Toronto (where I am) compared to smaller towns and cities, that's for sure.

Maybe the grocery stores near you. The ones near me sell wine on their shelves in their stores. Google "Loblaws wine" and look at the pictures.
March 5, 2025 at 11:40 PM
This is why I think the LCBO pulling stock off shelves is actually strategy to hurt them. It won't do anything to the US and it's going to cost the LCBO money.
March 5, 2025 at 9:23 PM
what's fair about it? It's traitorous and self-interested.
March 5, 2025 at 9:15 PM
Most of it is. I mean, in Ontario the tariff war is basically two vultures (Ford and Trump) fighting over who can pick our carcass clean first.
March 5, 2025 at 9:14 PM
Also, the LCBO is pulling product it had already purchased off its shelves. Grocery stores also have inventory already...are they going to sell it, or also pull it off their shelves?
March 5, 2025 at 9:10 PM
They don't buy it off LCBO's shelves though. Has the LCBO said it's no longer supplying restaurants and retail outlets with US alcohol?
March 5, 2025 at 9:07 PM
I still wonder whether this is the LCBO standing up for Canadians or Doug Ford trying to further undermine it into nonexistence. If all the grocery stores now selling alcohol opportunistically benefit from this instead of following suit, I think you might have your answer...

Out of curiosity, how do you feel about Portuguese custard tarts/pastel de nata? I find them similar but also quite different, and like both, not having grown up with either.
