🧵4/ The numbers are a snapshot of an ever-expanding project! With additional funding from the FWO for the GCND+, more recordings are being added, including Northern Dutch dialects from the Meertens Institute, and further grammatical enrichment is underway.

🧵3/ The corpus includes 4.7 million tokens and over 50,000 manually verified sentences in the GrETEL Treebank. The data can be searched by part of speech, syntax, and more. This resource is essential for studying Dutch as it has been spoken across different eras and regions.

🧵2/ This initial release of the GCND (Gesproken Corpus van de zuidelijk-Nederlandse Dialecten) includes:
430 hours of time-aligned transcriptions of dialect recordings,
650 recordings across 639 unique locations,
1,206 speakers
