Last night in my dream, I spent hours packing and repacking luggage.

This is night four without alcohol. Still waiting for this magical world of better sleep.

I gave up alcohol a few days ago on the promise of getting better sleep.

I am now cranky and still not sleeping.

This may or may not be related to the fact that I am reading Parable of the Sower right before bed. (It's my first time - no spoilers!)

I have a Great Pyranees rescue puppy. She has never seen snow before.

I just have to accept that I have an outside dog now.

At my hotel in Kansas City, I am within walking distance of at least two art museums with free admission.

This is almost as good as a beach resort.

Halloween is not my holiday. But it is the last thing standing between me and Christmas music.

Alt: There are two different types of people on November 1st: those who are counting down to Halloween for next year, and those who are already admiring the Christmas lights.

Today is a writing day. Unfortunately, today is also a chores day. And a rest day.

Basically no matter what I do, I will be unhappy with what I have accomplished.

Dear news outlets: Link to the actual things you're writing about. A lawsuit? Link to it. A previous court ruling? Link to it. A bill? Yup, link.

So often we instead get a link to that outlet's past coverage, only to learn the original story also didn't link to the source.

This is bad. Stop it.
