It is critical for endocrinologists, PCPs to know how to "prescribe" exercise for MASLD prevention treatment.

Thankfully the awesome @jonathanstinemd.bsky.social will be talking about just this next Tues, 12/5 from 12-1p EST.

Liver stiffness measurement (LSM) by VCTE shows highest failure rate in BMI >30, diabetes, age >65yo - precisely the patients we want to be risk stratifying given high risk.

Some Resmetirom considerations @SonalKumarMD for #MASLD #MASH at #TLM24

🟢 Dosing is weight-based
🔴 Beware of drug interactions: Gemfibrozil, Plavix, and statins
🔵 Mostly GI side effects, mostly short-lived

HCC can develop in pts with MASLD, even in the absence of cirrhosis, but current guidelines only recommend screening in MASH cirrhosis ☝🏼🤔

Liver stiffness measurement (LSM) can offer a way to identify those non-cirrhotic pts at high risk of HCC. Dr. Binu John

@sidbarritt4 presenting some awesome real-world data on liver outcomes 🎯🎯 #TLM24

GLP1-RA non-users had a 1.7 greater hazard of progression to decompensated cirrhosis and 2.3 hazard of death as compared to GLP1RA users

Alcohol and food activate similar centers in the brain, so should we be using one medication to target both?

Perhaps we should be reaching more for Contrave. Thanks for the amazing talk Dr. Gene Im @AASLDtweets #TLM24

In workup of Primary Aldosteronism, we prefer PRA (Plasma Renin Activity) to PRC (Plasma Renin Concentration). Why?

PRA reflects the functional activity of renin and how RAAS is functioning in response to Aldo levels. PRC more influenced by renal fxn, estrogen status in women.

Despite Primary Aldosteronism being the most common etiology of secondary HTN in middle-aged adults, <2% of the eligible population is ever screened!

Really need to start doing more PRA & Aldo levels on our patients with poorly-controlled HTN, risk factors (see below)
