Our report looking at levels of poverty among UK residential care workers shows that, in 2021–24, a person working in residential care was twice as likely to live in a food-insecure household and twice as likely to live in poverty as the average UK worker.

Our analysis showed up to 400,000 people would be pushed into poverty by the Government's proposed disability benefits cuts.

This was put to PM Keir Starmer by @debbieabrahamsmp.bsky.social at today's Liaison Committee.

He said the cuts would 'change behaviour'.
