Courtenay Councillor--> climate action/ housing affordability/ livable cities/ environment/ active transportation/
it's bleak these days, but I haven't given up on humanity
The Globe and Mail reported yesterday that he's committed to Daniel Smith that he will "partially" lift the ban. Such a joke - you cannot "partially" life a tanker ban. If tankers are allowed, they are no longer banned.

I'll fight this tooth and nail

I have long suspected this to to be the case. Good to see reporting on the corporate greed at Red Bull. I would be interested to know how frequent life changing injuries occur at their events.

Victoria should be on this list too - they have completely transformed their network in the last 7 years. I find the infrastructure to be on par with Vancouver - albeit a smaller network.

I'm interested in how they're planning on increasing bylaw revenue by 40% next year. Are there more bylaw officers trained up and ready to hit the ground running (around giving out tickets)

It's hard to imagine why all the Conservative wouldn't support this budget. It supports all the things that Conservatives want, less immigration and doing away with climate action policy.
It's hard to see how this is any different than what Poilievre would have come up with.

I would like to know what about this budget is "Liberal" - if the Conservatives had won the election, it's hard to imagine a budget that would have been meaningfully different.
They got rid of a luxury tax on boats and planes and implemented REFUGEES paying for their own health benefits.

Exactly. The domestic car industry is a sinking ship despite the billions in recent subsidies to produce in Canada (same thing we accuse China of doing).
Time to allow consumers to have cheap EV options if domestic producers can’t deliver

Mr. Aquilina said Tuesday’s announcement is not about tariffs. “It has everything to do with the demand for that type of vehicle..."
pro EV policies support demand and Canada is doing away with them

I respectfully disagree. The Liberals have scrapped the rebate and are doing away with the EV mandates. What pro EV policies remain?
The article refers to ending of EV mandates and rebates are main factors in GMs decision

The outrage seems to stem from the fact this older man is a US citizen- many have began to accept it’s different if the person is not American

I think there is a simple way to prioritize them:
1. relates to a service local government is responsible for
2. relates to a service the province is responsible for that directly impacts local government
3. relates to provincial government policy that LG wishes to advocate for/against

The reason it had to be voted on is it didn’t meet the criteria of an emergency resolution- that the matter arose after submission cut off.
I had a late resolution that was debated on Friday morning that met the criteria.

My personal opinion is each region should get to have a max of 10 resolutions. Would force delegates to decide on priorities.
Current problem is when everything is a priority nothing is!
