Screening for suicidality and adding safety-planning in primary-care lead to a 25% reduction in suicide attempts.
The trial-design is also fascinating.
Now imagine offering more (e.g., typical crisis intervention) to support people resolving the underlying cause of suicidal despair

Great visualization of model instability (big issue in suicide risk prediction lit). "Depending on the modeling strategy and sample size, there may be volatility in the set of selected predictors, the weights assigned to predictors, the functional forms of predictors, the selected interactions..."
ICYMI: Stability of clinical prediction models

We raise the concern that many models exhibit instability in the model and its predictions - and recommend instability plots should be presented

Excited to report that Dr. Nik Allan and I received a $3M NIMH R01 to optimize the delivery of safety planning-type interventions (SPIs) in psychiatric inpatients by identifying contexts that signify SPI use is clinically indicated & conditions that potentiate/inhibit SPI efficacy.
