As I wandered the Old Fortress, the ancient tiles beneath my feet caught the early light in a way that felt almost symbolic — glowing through their cracks, revealing more than their worn surfaces suggested.

When I returned to the studio, I realized I wasn’t simply painting what I had seen.

I’m attending a painting retreat on the island of Lefkada for several days, then I’m taking a couple of days to explore Santorini — a place I’ve always wanted to visit. I’m obsessed with Cycladic architecture and color palettes of it with the surrounding rock and sea.

Feeling more grounded in my art practice and allowing the things I’m so greatly inspired by live inside of me and move through me on the canvas in a slower, gentler way.

I’m leaving for Greece on Monday!
