I’m sad.

I cried a little then picked my phone up and automatically hit the TikTok app. I forgot.

the tiktok ban feels so surreal. it's so strange to see a community splinter like this into other corners of the internet to create new communities.

OK miss me with the bullshit that writers are ONLY on social media to sell books.

We're also humans who have pets and gardens and baked goods and pancakes that improbably come out of the pan looking like goats.

Where else are we supposed to talk about those things? Just stand outside and yell??

Here's your daily reminder that bookstores keep the love of reading alive — but they also keep neighborhoods beautiful. They are places to gather, to celebrate stories, to find community.

I'm not used to reading books where the characters are the plot, but it's kind of nice. Low stakes.

If anyone wants alternatives to Goodreads, I highly recommend walking out into the fields where the beehives sit in the hot sun, and telling the bees about what your reading, which characters you love, what book still haunts you all these years later. 📚 🐝
