When you’ve been making chocolate desserts and have some melted chocolate left over but you just cannot have another bite, what do you do with your leftovers? It’s still good; I don’t want to throw it away! Probably should’ve made chocolate spoons for tomorrow’s coffee :(

Yesterday I cleaned out the fridge in preparation for all the things I’m making for the holiday events next week. 💪🏻 I wish the weekend was like two days closer to the holiday so I had more non-work time to prepare. I’m not sure why I decided this year I’d make truffles, but I have, so let’s go!

Made three kinds of truffles today! Peanut butter dipped in chocolate, peanut butter with chocolate chips, and sugar cookie, with chocolate chip on deck and who knows the dipping combo by the end.

My latest batch of cider is fermenting sooo slooowly. Very different experience from my prior ciders. I think I’m gonna buy a hydrometer to see where it’s at just three days into the fermentation to see if I can get a good rate on it. Relieved that there’s airlock activity, even if small

Started a new batch! Unfiltered Martinelli apple juice as a base, with half a packet of S04 yeast, cup of strong black tea for tannin, and some yeast nutrient. Ended up only using 3L juice to leave headspace for the krausen, as I don’t know what to expect with nutrient.

Both invigorating & nerve wracking, submitting an application for an internal position. To celebrate & also distract from getting my hopes up, my husband, 10, & I did face masks! While we laughed so hard at how drippy they were, I’ll also never get this brand again. But, fun! (no 10 for you tho)

Fair amount of alcohol content in this cider (based off of how it hits; I still don’t have a hydrometer 🙃) but not a lot of body. Racked most of it with some juice to carbonate. I have a new juice ready to go & this time I might try adding tea-based tannins for body like I’ve seen elsewhere online.

Okay so this was pretty good! Mild in overall curry flavor so I’ll pump that up next time.
The OG recipe called for 4.5lbs of minced pork and the whole recipe was to feed /four people/. I made all the meatballs but baked half separately to freeze. Literally cannot imagine 🤯
