Everyone hating on Keanu Reeves' performance in Bram Stoker’s Dracula should watch the 1922 version (which BSD pays hard homage to).
The character is MEANT to be an absolute and total grinning idiot. Keanu's casting is actually perfect, both he and Coppola understood the assignment.

had to enlist a friend, a neighbour's toolkit + my longest spanner, and a LOT of grunting to loosen back axel bolts a mechanic had wrenched solid
