A reminder that many schemes for utopian independent #zones are essentially white supremacist plans for re-colonization or double colonization. This one is just more overt in its violence and stupidity. Most hide behind ideas like "prosperity", "entrepreneurialism" and "sustainability."

Off to Nice to attend a great looking two-day symposium on FRT & Law, alongside world class scholars. I will give a talk about the pervasive interplay between private and public surveillance in mega-projects like NEOM, which function as a testing ground for biometric surveillance.
