It's a chilly in here right now so I put on a sweater. So, I guess, not hot.
Unless, of course, you're using a different definition of hot ... like, "hot" is cool, or hot is popular, trending, sexy, or cute. oh there are so many definitions wherein I'm not hot. 🙄

I've made a bunch of marinara and also frozen a bunch whole to throw in soups/stews. This batch, I think I might make into stewed tomatoes.

Usually tomatoes around here are done in September. They might hang on until early October. I picked about 60 green tomatoes around Oct. 25. Nov 3 half were ripe. Now over a week on, more than half of the remaining ripened. A small number left are kind of orange and close. Quite the extended season.

Ha, I just put them in a paper sack and clipped it. I didn't include an apple.

Yeah, that could be awkward!

Yes, and healthy because low fat. I had a similar experience with someone willing to try it.

Hope that's an option!

Back when I hunted with my husband it was camaraderie. I don't hunt anymore, because I'd have to do it alone and I don't think I'd be able to drag one out. But I do love the venison ... sometimes I'm a shameless carnivore.

Twice last night driving home, I watched a buck stop on the shoulder and look both ways ... then wait for my to go by, before crossing. The dumb ones are all over the road (ahem). I'd think as part of the program offering farmers extra tags that they'd find ways to offer exceptions. $300 is crazy.

Most of the people around here hunt ... and still I've counted over 100 in a 3-mile stretch in winter. And we have CWD in this county. But the deer have gotten savvy and go deep in the swamps and marshes during hunting season.

My neighbor farms 30 acres of my farm. The deer and crane damage in the corn this year was crazy. The deer get into my fenced vegetable gardens, ate off the tops of all the maple seedlings I planted, and have shredded several saplings with buck rubs (one snorted angrily last night when I went out)

They want that public land to be private so they can demand big bucks for canned buck hunts. And build their McMansions and golf courses. They really don't get it.

It's un-American to not like turkey? I mean, it's okay, but I'm not serving it.

His answer to the threshold being too low was to lower it more. It's like they have no idea that the vast majority of their constituents WANT natural areas, parks and rec land, representing something like $11 billion in GDP and 100K state jobs. But oh, we'd rather build a data center or something.

Kurtz, R-Wonewoc...
Oh fuck off, Wonewoc, your nearest state land is fucking Buckhorn Lake. And you're damn well not *northern* Wisconsin, you useless suburb of Mauston!
Out of state trophy hunt concerns are buying up the Driftless and he's fucking around with *this*?
