Here in upstate NY, my daughter made friends with a great blue heron. Only happened once, but we’ll never forget it.

If there are any weather nerds out there, can we at least agree that lake effect snow is something special? It’s only about ten miles (as the crow flies) that delineates over a foot of snow from a few inches.
