Skip AGI's vague promises to cure all diseases or benefit all of humanity. I want AI's best minds to solve these hard problems manifested by modern AI - Copyright Protection Tech, Tools for Workforce in AI Era, and Smallest, Most Energy-Efficient Data Centers. That is responsible AI.

The passing of Dr. Jane Goodall mid-conference underscored a profound question: Can we advance technology without losing our collective conscience?
Read my October Substack on why despite feeling pessimistic I feel more focused and crisp in my intentions.

Two things can be true simultaneously:

Vibe coding makes a coder language-agnostic and gives them infinite opportunities to build.

Vibe coding creates a massive production testing debt that is virtually impossible for an individual to fully test end-to-end.

What's your experience been?

I'm seeing posts about our inability to distinguish AI-generated content from human-generated content. The real focus should be on who owns it but we lack tools & laws that clearly attribute ownership to the creator, regardless of whether they used AI. Are we really ready to outsource creativity?

Faster search, retrieval, and regeneration is not the same as thinking, it's false marketing. Perhaps the strategy of these AI companies, by claiming their models can 'think,' is to lower the bar for human intelligence so they can claim to have achieved 'super intelligence' faster.

Someone asked if I believe in AGI/ASI
My response, I have heard about god’s miracles my whole life and have come to the conclusion that it is pointless to challenge those who claim to have experienced such miracles. I have not, and will remain a non- believer and focus on rowing my own boat.

The "not-for-profit" OpenAI finally released an open-weight model after gaining significant financial leverage over the last three years. And somehow, it's a big deal. The irony is palpable. Meanwhile, a Chinese company released Kimi open-source two weeks ago, and it went largely unnoticed.
