She was so brilliant and wise, truly wise. Her essays are also phenomenal. I was her student for a semester at the New School, and the workshop was life-changing for all involved. Condolences to all, those who loved the wise woman and those who have been shaped or transformed by the poet.

Would love to meet you for a walk! I'll drop a line, I could definitely plan on this after work, especially now that longer days are here 🌞

Thank you for sharing, and for including all of the ways this practice has changed you (and I also appreciate the aside about "being present," it is odd and unsettling that it has become a cliched aspiration of our time...). I'm going to try it!

I want to hear more about the Chilean bread! What makes it distinctive? I've never heard about it as its own thing!

Three cheeses, guau!! Must be a big arepa. Fresh arepa with only queso de mano and avocado is heavenly, my fave :)

You are probably not scooping out the hot delicious middle and eating with butter as goddess intended (or margarina Mavesa if you are in Venezuela). Then you stuff it with whatever you want. It should be structurally sound enough (crispy) enough to bear this.
