Respectfully, Comparing Iran 2025 to Iraq 2003 is inaccurate and unwise. Majority of US public supported Iraq invasion in ‘03, and it’s still more popular in the aftermath than Iran is today.

Iraq wasn’t based on a lie, it was based on bad intel. And it had coalition of the willing, Congress…

By all accounts, the Iran strike occurred w/o even VP’s knowledge. Its approval rating approaches the number of Americans who think chocolate milk comes from brown cows. And it invites the very real possibility of devastating, irreversible retribution against an American people that didn’t want this

Invading Iraq was ultimately deeply unpopular, with only 32% of all U.S. adults saying it had been worth fighting (2019). But in 2003, a majority of Americans supported the war.

According to the Israel times, US public support for military intervention in Iran is at 16%. Other numbers point to 5%.

Iraq: the CIA + MI6 insisted intel existed showing WMDs. & it DID EXIST, it was just overstated!

Invasion was NOT UNILATERAL. Bush sought Congressional approval and got it (2002 Authorization of Use of Military Force). He sought support of our allies &got 30+ (UNSCR 1441, coalition of the willing)

To be as clear as possible: these mega-billionaires didn’t exist during Trump 1 and only exist now because of the Republican reconciliation bill of 2017, which is set to expire this year. The slashing will be trade-offs that allow cuts to pass with only R support.

Sooner than CU, we need to contend with whether the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will extend cuts for billionaires. 8 years ago, people with dozen-digit fortunes didn’t exist. Now there are 15. The tax cuts get more expensive as wealth concentrates, which is why our federal government is being dismantled
