As a middle aged backyard observer, my younger friends give me a hard time for loving birds.

Birds are just out there doing their thing, trying to survive, and looking cool as hell.

And aren't we all trying to do the same?

The *amount* of time I spent in school learning how to recognize a solid source of information is lost in today's world. This was foundational for us (elder) millennials who were finding footing in a new digital age.

But now? Memes and tweets are facts if you hope hard enough.
Every day on the internet makes it abundantly clear that some people have never had a single person turn around and say to them, ‘Cite your sources’ because, and I say this with every ounce of love I can muster as a teacher: while you are entitled to your opinion, that does not make it fact.
