The pitcher for the other team last night was throwing 70mph (according to the ump.) These kids are 10 years old, maybe 11. Cam got one of the three hits he allowed. 😬

I just dropped Finley off at his first drop off birthday party. This feels like a big deal for the last baby.

I haven’t worked in three weeks and I had a lot of things I wanted to do. Now that I’m actually starting a new job Monday I’m like oh shit I should get those done. Today, cleaning out Finley’s clothes. The little “failure to thrive” four year old is now a big lanky seven year old.

I’m taking a hefty pay cut but it’s worth it. When I quit my job we traded in Steve’s truck and got a very reasonable car. He said “I’m not married to the truck, I’m married to you.” This may not be my new forever job, but it’s perfect for this season in my life. I can’t wait.

Hi! Long time no see, everyone. Life updates: I quit my job. It was awful. I took a little sabbatical. I am starting a new job as manager of a speech and language therapy clinic on Monday. Boys are busy, growing, wonderful little humans. Husband is good. How is everyone else doing?

My kids met my brother for the first time last weekend and they spent almost all evening playing basketball with him. Cam said, “Mama he’s good!” (He was an all district player in high school.)

You know how when you know something is wrong (physically) but you just don’t know what and when you get test results you want to shout to everyone I TOLD YOU SO!! I had that feeling today. I have Hashimotos now. But also my iron has dropped rapidly for no good reason. Further tests results pending.

Invisible work: I’m working tomorrow. My dad is taking Cam to a baseball game/scrimmage, then lunch, then to basketball game. Steve just taking F to basketball game and meeting g them there…

Long story but today was the first time I’ve seen one of my brothers in almost ten years. He came to a funeral for his girlfriend’s father. I was nervous to see him, but I wanted to meet my niece (she’s 1, his 4th child.) I realized I might regret it if I didn’t.

Cam’s team had the battle red uniforms yesterday, but it didn’t help much. They got clobbered. He took a ball to the ribs too. That’s one way to get on base!

I have rocks all along the side of my house. Three years ago we bought pavers to make a pathway through the rocks from the front yard to the back. TODAY IS THE DAY I pay a high school kid to move enough rocks to make the walkway. If all else fails, throw money at it.

I can’t sleep so I got up and wrote my mom’s obituary and ate a cookie. Because that’s a completely normal thing to do. Is she sick or dying? Nope. She’s not even 70. But I guess I’ll be ready.
