Really impressed by the panel on Palestinian archaeology held at #ICAANE. Encouraging to hear the things that needed to be said, actually being said. Will look forward to seeing the positive changes the #ICAANE committee will implement going forwards, setting a strong example for the field 💪🙌

What an excellent ICAANE - thank you to everyone that asked great bitumen questions, and thank you to Lyon for all the incredible food (and Aperol) ☺️

Pleased to announce the publication of our Archaeological Review from
Cambridge volume 40.1: “Food, Gods & Ancestors”! So much work for this little book but so happy with the final result. Thank you to all the amazing contributors and to Dr Salima Ikram for giving a wonderful talk during our launch!

…and #Kish, where we caught up with the team from the University of Freiburg archaeological project at Kish. Very lucky to be given a sneak peek at the mag results and a tour of the site by Dr Ivana Puljiz, and a lovely lunch together in the garden! #Nippur

Made the absolute most of our days off from excavation at #Nippur, visiting other important sites that many of the team hadn’t seen yet - like #Babylon

This trip has also included stops in Oklahoma, Salem, DC, and Philly ✈️
So much done and time spent with wonderful people, but I really freaking miss my own bed!
Last day tomorrow and then apparently I’m flying through a volcanic eruption in Iceland & into a red weather warning in the U.K…🤞

First post on here to celebrate a great first ASOR in Boston. Glad to have made it to this side of the pond to share some bitumen chat, attend really interesting papers, meet lovely people, and of course get in some sightseeing!
