Listening to the wild Republican press conference right now. Does anyone know who just sassed Mike Johnson? I want to send them a cookie. #govshutdown

Just finished High Conflict by Amanda Ripley, I highly rec this book as the people in our lives who voted for Trump experience the fallout of that vote. It has given me some very valuable perspective. #booksky

Reminder: They're trying to demoralize you, and they're doing a great job of it. Part of resisting is making time for joy despite the attempts to make you feel this is not the time for it. Love your people. Dig the art that speaks to you. Go to the places where life flows into you. You deserve joy.

I'm so proud to use my public library, I love to read, I love to engage in my community, and I love that my tax $$ gives so much support to others. Libraries provide so MANY resources. Engage with it! #booksky

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.

Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.

Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

SPEAKING OF GARDENS

yall better have library cards. Some (most!!) public library systems have seed libraries and libraries of things where you can borrow things you may not need to own.

Also libraries are revolutionary and librarians have always been on the front lines

people say “you need to start living in the real world” but they forget that the real world includes lupines and lightning bugs and ginger beer and starlight and sea coasts and Renoir paintings and Rachmaninoff’s piano concertos and fog banks and foxes playing in snow.

Today I'm grateful for being able to see well enough again to read books. It's been a long time since I could cuddle up with a book and just devour it with my eyes. #grateful

@owlsys.bsky.social anything you can share?
What are some accessible Infosec & Opsec resources that activists, journalists, and organizers can turn to in preparation for the Trump admin?

Preparing for a fascist regime can feel scary and paralyzing. This seems like an area where people can take control w/ concrete steps.

Today I'm grateful for having the energy and mobility to deep clean part of the house. A year ago my joints hurt so bad it was almost impossible even to consider it. #grateful

Grateful post this Sunday is for scented candles and twinkling Christmas tree lights. <3 I love this time of year, and since Germany doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving it's not taboo to put my tree up before it lol. #grateful

Be soft.
Do not let the world make you hard.
Do not let the pain make you hate.
Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness.
Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree,
you still believe it to be a beautiful place.
