I write/produce theatre for Wallflower Theatre Company. Became Gamera, friend to all children so gradually I didn’t even notice. A Dandy guy in space. Rebel without a clue since ‘87 (He/Him) Allegedly The Male Feminist Final Boss.
Dang thanks for sharing. He can do faces now and is therefore unstoppable.

I’m aware that’s juvenile to say. But we’re poised to elect this guy prime minister and he’s out here squeaking the words “Canada First” 10 times in a 5 minute speech. Change one word & it’s the same slogan of the idiot we all hate that started the trade war. It’s embarrassing that’s all he has.

Hey Carney enjoy being the new Kim Campbell you yutz. (For the record I’m frequently wrong about politics & I hope that’s the case here & despite my tone, I am in fact attempting to root for you).

Also take care of yourselves this holiday season. I work in a grocery store that constantly plays different versions of Last Christmas & Blue Christmas all day. As if retail & standing in line aren’t depressing enough. Yeesh that’d drive anyone into depression.

(also it points to the virtues of dabbling around in other mediums. I was doing slam poetry at the same & I wanted to play with that in theatre. The scene turned into a cesspool of performative activism & virtue signalling, but for a couple years it was magic. It & I made a beautiful kid in the end)

It was built on the backs of those sad, nasty, otherworldly, experimental plays that will probably never see the light of day. Thankfully the weird detours they took me on lead me to one of the weirdest most wonderful things I’ve ever written. No art is a waste of time. Ever.

To close the story of that cycle of 4 plays I called Little Fractures, I ended up writing a 5th. A 20 minute long abstract poem now called “Hikikomori” that was 1st produced under another name in 2013 & is one of my favourite things that I’ve ever done.

I was in a happier place when I decided to edit & when I did I found it lurid, perverse & unsettlingly violent in a lot of ways. It wasn’t fit for public consumption & that’s okay: not all art is. Sometimes it’s just you working through shit & that’s ok. Same class, different lessons as the others.
