Share a Christmas movie.

I know it’s not technically a movie, but because our antenna could not pick up any channel that carried Trek, the first time that I was able to watch Encounter at Farpoint was on a VHS tape I received for Christmas.

Trump’s idea of a 50-year mortgage once again shows how out of touch he is with reality and with ordinary people. A 50 year mortgage? You will never really own the house, and you will never retire.

What to know about Trump's proposed 50-year mortgages

3 questions about Trump's 50-year mortgage plan
Experts in the mortgage industry are skeptical. Buyers would pay less each month, but would end up paying more over time. Here's what to know about the proposed 50-year mortgages.

Okay, Trek nerds, post a picture from your first #StarTrek movie.

I know the first Trek movie I watched in a theater but not which was the first Trek movie I ever watched. It was probably this one on VHS.

What's your unpopular star trek opinion?

David Mack’s Star Trek Destiny novel trilogy resolved the whole Borg threat to the Federation in a much more satisfactory way than season 3 of Picard.
What's your unpopular star trek opinion?

Prodigy is not canon within the Star Trek universe. It's a holonovel created to drum up interest in Starfleet among young prodigies.

Pike peaked in DISCO S2.

A major problem with online education is that feeds into the attitude of getting a degree just to get the right credentials rather than developing critical thinking skills and actually reading. I can’t blame my students for this attitude. They are being fleeced. Ugh.

Sometimes having 4 adults living in my in addition to me and my husband drives me crazy. Sometimes I don’t mind it. I’m kind of glad that Vietnamese is their first language and, for two of them, their only language. It means I don’t have to talk too much and can remain introverted.

Nothing like a homeschooled high school student taking a history course for college credit online and trying to evangelize you while answering a question about ancient Christianity. Oh my sweet child please broaden your horizons just a little.

You're having a dinner party with characters from Star Trek. What four are you inviting?

A nice, intellectually stimulating dinner party. Everyone arrives promptly at 6 pm and leaves promptly at 7 pm.

Mamdani is going to implement Kir'Shara law. People will have to choose logic and embrace infinite diversity in infinite combinations.

Doesn’t sound so bad.
Mamdani is going to implement Shawarma law. We will all be forced to choose between lamb or chicken, and between salad, fries, or rice.
Mamdani is going to implement Shakira law. Hips will no longer be able to lie.

Am I the only one who feels uncomfortable when they walk into a house and there is a massive crucifix in the living room?

I don’t feel that way on the rare occasion I visit a church, but in a house yikes.
