Medieval Murder is an educational podcast bringing historical murders from the medieval and early modern period to life.
The Apocalypse Tapestry is a large medieval set of tapestries currently held in Chateau d’Angers in France. The tapestry was commissioned by Louis I, the Duke of Anjou and is dated to the late 14th century. It depicts the story of the apocalypse from the Book of Revelation in the Bible.

This is a manuscript illustration of the death of the antichrist dating from the 15th century. It was created by an anonymous author using a woodcut that was then colored. It is currently located in the Albertina Collection in Vienna.

Originally built in the early 13th century as a defensive measure for the clans of Scotland, Eilean Donan Castle played a role in the Jacobite risings of the 17th and 18th centuries, which ultimately culminated in the castle’s destruction. The castle was rebuilt in 1932.

The tale of the adulterous love affair between the knight Tristram and his uncle’s wife Isolde is shown on these floor tiles. Made at Chertsey Abbey, the tiles would have originally had more than 30 scenes. The roundel at the centre of each tile was fired in one piece, then set into a square frame.

Enamel plaque with cleansing of Namaan: The Meuse valley was an important centre of enamel production from around 1130 to 1200. It shows the biblical story of the Syrian general Naaman. He was cured of leprosy after bathing in the river Jordan. Currently housed at the British Museum.
