In today's adventures, the new queen of New Box Hall, Spunky (aka Regina Fortis) has summited the refrigerator and planted the flag. She can now, at her discretion, survey the vast expanse of the kitchen from the crags and cliffs of the L/G refrigerator/freezer unit.

My much-beloved Jonesie girl crossed the rainbow bridge this Thursday past, as the result of both stage 3 kidney disease and pericarditis.

She died in my lap, with both my mother and I giving her pets and telling her how wonderful she'd been, and covered by her favorite fuzzy pink blanket.

Sigung Taky would be 101 had he lived. So, it’s beef with oyster sauce (Sijo Bruce’s favorite dish), and tea with a dearly loved and missed friend.

Current reading for International Women’s Day - and what I thought would be a relatively quiet life in medieval England is instead the story of a force of nature. Margery Kempe was determined, intelligent, opinionated, and a pain in the ass. But what a life she led.

My next read, since I finished Pushkin a while back.

If anyone wants to check, my “man card” includes:

1) 32 years experience and counting with swords and martial arts training

2) performing fights on camera

3) driving muscle cars (3rd gen Chargers)

And I know patriarchy is nothing but shit.

My favorite of the Russell illustrated letters - written to Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. after the release of Doug's "The Three Musketeers" in 1921.

I love Russell's line and how loose and fluid it is. I also love his sense of humor and attention to detail.

I took this a while back to support my friend Nasty Nes, but I learned today that he passed away on the 15th.

He was my older Jeet Kune Do brother, and he was kind, generous, and always willing to help. I am most definitely going to miss him.

Any other Godzilla fans out here?

Here is another happy thing: I’ve been a student of stage fighting & martial arts for a combined 32 years. I had to sell this sword during my divorce, and the person who ended up with it gave it back to me when I moved to Montana.

Never discount the power of simple kindness to bring happiness

A happy thing to offset the DEAR GOD, WHY of social media: a genuine poster from 1974’s “The Four Musketeers,” directed by Richard Lester.

I’m with you, and I apologize for contributing to the general gloom and doom. If it helps at all, I find your work helps me feel much better about things, so do take care of yourself and nurture your hope. I’ll do the same, and thank you for introducing me to Rainbow Rowell’s writing! That brings 😊

I have a great fondness for William James, especially after reading “Varieties of the Religious Experience”, and this find is already edifying and humane.

I have been repeatedly meowed for/at by a cat who seems to say, “Come be with me!”

I came to be with her and this is the result.

Let's show some love to LA street racing legend "Big Willie" Robinson, founder of the Brotherhood of Street Racers in the '60's and '70's. A special forces veteran and bodybuilder, Big Willie loved cars and felt he could bring neighborhoods together through street racing in controlled conditions.

Repping for my friend “Nasty” Nes Rodriguez, Seattle hip hop legend and JKD brother.

He’s been having some hard times lately and could use some love and support. Go to beats4hope.com/collections/... and buy some Crazy Pinoy gear. Proceeds go to Nes’ medical expenses and to US food banks.
