This is April on Mount Hood. Low altitude Oregon was green lovely, high altitude snow pack was quite a shock for this east coaster.

The commonwealth cup is not 100lbs. This guy is lifting it with his fingertips, I’ve seen skinny college girls drink from it at a bar without struggling at all. I’d guess it’s 1 or 2 pounds tops.

Also on the "airplanes as a threat" list: the Republic XF-84H "Thunderscreech". The tips of the propellers were supersonic, it was so loud it could be heard 25 miles away.
