LOTS and lots of poking around in the dark, testing the primary and secondary, but: we have standby! The culprit was a bad 7805 on the standby power line

So far: not turning on and no standby light. I suspect an issue with the logic circuitry. I haven’t been in many CRTs but there’s an insane-looking connector between the PSU/CRT driver board and the logic board
