I hear your frustration with COP. It is beyond disappointing.

And this is true even as we all have a role to play in addressing the crisis.

There are real perpetrators and victims in the climate crisis - saying all of humanity is responsible erases these crimes and absolves those standing in the way of action.

I strongly disagree that all of humanity is allowing this to happen. Among the most powerful examples: people putting their lives on the line fighting oil and gas development around the world, with Indigenous peoples disproportionately represented among those killed defending their lands and waters.

It's also important to recognize developing nations' hard-fought COP30 wins: (1) getting wealthy nations to agree to triple adaptation funding for poorer nations (huge!), (2) adoption of a just transition plan, and (3) getting petro states to agree to even talk about a future fossil fuel phaseout.

Worth noting that 3 out of the 5 Washington counties meeting the FEMA aid threshold for the storm voted for Trump.

We should be very grateful Mamdani chooses to use his talents for good.

Washington: salt water and Douglas fir (with my apologies to the east side, which would be more like sage and Ponderosa pine).

Literally the only time I have found myself wanting a doorbell camera.

Yes, they'll be trucking it. And I'm realizing now I overstated by saying "running out" - they are at risk of "running low."

Update: "Energy giant BP closed off the Olympic Pipeline again on Monday after finding diesel leaking where workers were responding to a previous jet fuel spill."
BREAKING: The Northwest’s primary oil pipeline has shut down for the second time in a week, this time leading Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson to declare an emergency to keep Sea-Tac Airport from running out of jet fuel. www.kuow.org/stories/nort...
