played exactly the sort of session last night I really enjoy - two good friends and me, and a mostly empty bar. Three fiddles and nothing else is really all you need for some good tunes...
Today is probably going to be more chaotic, so the banjo is coming as well.

Today's #espresso - Hydrangea's Finca El Uberrimo (hydrangea.coffee/products/pin...), courtesy of a friend with a slight obsession with pink bags of coffee. Pulled 21g in/42g out, at a pretty fast 15s. Really excellent!

Currently working on a project that seems to be 90% an excuse to make brass parts on a lathe. Basically done with the drive train, although there's about 25 more parts to make, not including the woodworking...

Did a little woodworking this weekend, and now the lathe station is basically complete and I have a new 18"x36" work surface on the other side. It's much nicer to have the DRO actually mounted, and not have a cardboard chip tray...

Lost the battle against shiny today while innocently walking through Shibuya LOFT minding my own business - recrystallized and gradient anodized titanium is...pretty... and now I own a vaporwave cup.

Spent the day up at one of my favorite places: Pilchuck glass school. Looks like my dream of melting some batches of colored glass formulas I designed may actually come true!

Thing I didn't think of when purchasing an 1970s British lathe: all the fasteners are 55 degree Whitworth BSF, and are thus not something you can just...buy...easily.
(fortunately, I now have a wonderful lathe - and a bunch of new projects! T-1 week until I get it mounted and get a DRO on it)
