It’s about to be a cold winter, and many Maryland families rely on federal programs to heat their homes.

One of those programs, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, is being delayed because of Trump’s federal shutdown.

As a result of Governor Moore’s November 3 emergency order, Maryland SNAP customers can expect a state supplemental benefit starting November 11.

I'm encouraged by these rulings affirming what we've long said: The Trump Administration must follow the law.

In response to the President’s illegal refusal to deploy emergency federal funding to keep food assistance running, I am declaring a State of Emergency.
