If you have a small greenhouse, or even a cool room with a sunny window, I recommend planting some lettuce. Lettuce is getting scarce for a variety of reasons, and definitely expensive. But leaf lettuce is one of the easiest crops to grow in the winter. 8b AZ, I have cold frames.

For my own mental health I have to take myself off puffy mode for a day or two now and then. Go do things you used to do before Felon 47 put us all in puffy mode. I've been there, so I understand. Been there so many times, and I keep going back for more. I miss all my former pets, cats and dogs. Especially the dogs. But I'll still try to make the next one's life better, as short as it is.

I am devastated about losing the lodge and so many other structures at the North Rim. I wonder how long before they rebuild? I recently returned from working my 7th star party there. Besides night viewing we did solar activities by day. So much fun.

We had one right outside our back door for a few weeks. I put a reminder note on the door so we wouldn't walk face first into it, but instead duck under. I think she liked how our porch light drew in so many insects. It was mostly gone every morning.
