But Lovecraft’s influence gets weirder. Have any of you heard of an anime called ‘Haiyore! Nyaruko-san’? There is literally an anime about a high schooler falling in love with Nyarlathotep who has been manifested as one of his classmates.

But there’s like 90% chance I’d like it, a 51% chance it would be a hit, and a decent chance it’d be a classic. Furthermore Lovecraft has been gaining a lot of cultural currency. At this point I feel like most people won’t be weirded out if you mention ‘Cthulhu’.

Jesus and Deadpool have made it clear that high budget R rated movies can bring in the money, so there’s really no reason to reject it.

Please let him do this. I don’t know if he’d make a faithful adaptation, if he’d deconstruct Lovecraft’s racism like in ‘Lovecraft Country,’ or If he’d just lean into Howard Philips’ sense of existential dread in the face of an uncaring cosmos.

Yeah it’s kinda weird that an iconic 90s superhero who inspired millennials to care about the environment and embrace other cultures hasn’t been revived. Oh.

Have you watched Samurai Flamenco?

Only in fiction. Iron Man is a superhero because he’s a billionaire who isn’t a piece of shit.

And it all led to Civil War. Which is probably my second favorite MCU movie.

Greece was essentially held hostage by the EU. The SYRIZA (coalition of the radical left) government under Alexis Tsipras was forced to choose between leaving the EU or facing austerity measures imposed by the troika. Tsipras gave in, Varoufakis started a new party. Does anyone even remember GREXIT?
