Through delicate layers of paint, erasure, and revision, Lauda explores disintegration and transformation, leaving behind traces of earlier gestures as quiet evidence of the work’s evolution. The result is an abstract composition that holds the memory of its making.

Next up, we’re pleased to share the acquisition of Jean-François Lauda’s 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘥 (2023–2024) at Art Toronto.

Laur P’s work imagines new worlds inspired by nature, deep time, and memory, exploring how forms and materials grow, change, and interact. Through a slow, layered process, Laur P shows how life, decay, and transformation shape both the natural world and our understanding of it.

In this work, Liddington expresses how we experience landscape rather than how we see it. Liddington’s dense canvas evokes the idea of immersion in a forest so dense that our sense of orientation is hindered.
