Look what I just got in the mail! The materials for the Mayoral election in my village. The upcoming national election will actually be my second chance at voting as a German citizen. I hope to be able to do that one in person 🤓

After years of looking in every new-to-me grocery store for the one brand of mint chip ice cream, I finally found this newly stocked in my local Edeka! This has been one of the only cravings I haven’t been able to satisfy in 🇩🇪. It’s been a shitty day and I guess the universe knew what I needed.

After years of looking in every new-to-me grocery store for the one brand of mint chip ice cream, I finally found this newly stocked in my local Edeka! This has been one of the only cravings I haven’t been able to satisfy in 🇩🇪. It’s been a shitty day and I guess the universe knew what I needed.
Thanks to everyone for the Cocoa Powder Advice! I went to Altnatura yesterday and found what I needed. After some baking and a taste test this morning, I think I have a new favorite holiday dessert: Chocolate Peppermint Whoopie Pies

I actually faced the same question the other week and have been meaning to ask what others use. Since shortening in the US is 100% fat, I found the only option at my local Edeka. It doesn’t say that it’s for baking, but so far things have worked?!
