A postscript of sorts to Dick Spring's comments last weeks, but asked him today at an event for his reaction to Ivana Bacik's call for a timeline on a border poll:

Richard Boyd Barrett returned to the Dáil today after completing treatment for throat cancer, receiving a standing ovation from TDs across the chamber.

He used his first speech back to call for urgent investment in cancer services.

A day where law and justice feel far apart. But criminal law really struggles to function at 53 years of remove, when so many witnesses are dead. Injustice was assured when it took this long for the state to recognise its wrongdoing and start proceedings:

This is the most interesting thing I've read in days on the presidential campaign
Connolly won the internet because influencers crowded around her

I haven't seen this since the referendums

My theory: left unity opened the door for progressive creators to engage; they're not worried about intra-left sniping and blowback

There's a lesson there

“There’ll be a lot of significant work in respect of it”

There was, in fact, not much work in respect of it
And worse, the Taoiseach and Tániste are doing the 1998 Agreement as vibes to avoid prioritising such a vote, which they don't regard as being in their narrow electoral interest. Under the B/GFA 1998 parity of esteem applies to the "sovereign government" for NI. This is just chaff and distraction:
