Deep thought today: No one organization is going to be everything. Principles matter, but so does just getting good work done in the groups that support that kind of work. More, varied connections are a healthy thing.

Yikes, I need to cut down on the coffee. I’m a shaky, anxious mess today. I mean there’s good reason, but I don’t need to add to the stress!

Donald Trump and Elon Musk say they’re prioritizing “efficiency,” but what they’re really vying for is power. Congress needs to stand up to them and protect our democracy.

It’s an odd feeling when I recognized that I just looked at the morning temp, saw it was 17 degrees, and thought, “it’s warm today.”

The Goodes were blown away by The Planets performed by the Baltimore Symphony, conducted by Jonathan Heyward.

And we were in awe of saxophonist Jess Gillam’s shockingly gorgeous solo work in the premiere of Glasslands!

I’m diving into this study as someone who cares deeply about local wildlife care but has long been uneasy about “invasive” messaging.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how to best communicate about this stuff, so I’m finding this paper particularly interesting.
Excited about this paper led by Rachel Reeb that lays out some of our thoughts on sci comm about invasive plants, a trickier & way more nuanced topic than I appreciated a few years ago. (Exhibition on invasive plants coming to Carnegie Museum this spring!) doi.org/10.1002/ppp3...

I’m excited about the Witch Hazel tree I ordered for my garden!
Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) got a late start this year. Now it’s in full bloom and looking gorgeous. Pollinated primarily by #Diptera (flies). #nativeplants #homegrownnationalpark
