Now we're at the emergency vet. Grateful it's only a few minutes from the house, but there are a lot of places I'd rather be. 🙃

That refusal to actually be involved is one of the reasons your GM is burning out.

If you want a fire to keep burning, you've got to give it fuel. Otherwise, the flames go out, and you're left in the dark.

Roleplaying should be an ongoing conversation where everyone participates - that means players collaborating with each other *and* with the GM. If you are just happy to be here and to have someone else deliver content for you... that can be fine in the short term. But in the long term?

I don't have any brilliant conclusions or world changing advice. I wish I did! What I have is an observation:

Way too many people want content delivered to them without them having to do anything to make that content. Way too many people are happy to take someone else's labor as a given.

I've offered to share my content with people. I've offered to share my process. I literally offered to buy people published content that inspired me.

People have not only not taken me up on those offers, they have actively run away from them. Sometimes politely, sometimes... not.

I like to think I'm okay at it! I'm not gonna get a show on Dropout or w/e, but I feel like I do pretty well for a hobbyist.

A weird side effect of this is realizing how many people emphatically do NOT want to know how the adventure they're playing was made.

It's me. I'm people.

Looking through some old decks recently, and I apparently just kept jamming this dude.

Oh wow. It's been a while since I thought about that one. Cotton candy was never the same.
