A graph showing public and private sector house building in the UK. You can see a massive area on the graph from the end of the second world war to the introduction of Right to Buy, where the public sector was building huge amounts of housing. It then collapsed. Private sector housing initially increased, but then slowly declined.

Whenever I hear about the decline in standards from the old days of Decent Conservatism this is the first image that comes to mind. The man who drew this was given an OBE.

Puppies. I miss them a lot.
The first photo we got of Jingles and Jess from the breeder. I actually don't know which is which here. Their adult colours haven't come through and they seem black rather than the grey they would end up as. They are fluffy puppies being held up to the camera. They both have white chins. This is them as babies on a rug. You can tell who is who here. Jess is darker, on the left, jingles is lighter, on the right. You can also see that jingles had longer legs, Jess was more squat. Jingles as a very small puppy. This must have been her first ever haircut. Her grey brindle colours are coming through. She is sat on a trampoline for her photo, and she looks like she is smiling. Two Westiepoo puppies on a shelf. Jingles is at the front looking inquisitive, Jess at the back peering down.

The 1973 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded jointly to United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and Worker's Party of Vietnam Politburo representative Lê Đức Thọ "for jointly having negotiated a cease fire in Vietnam in 1973." Thọ declined to accept the prize, and Kissinger accepted in absentia as he did not want to be targeted by anti-war protestors at the event. Kissinger later tried to return the award, but the committee declined his offer.

Going through old photos while I wait around at work.
JJ is sitting on my bed. This is from when she could still jump up by herself. She had a stare - she would sit just out of arm's reach and look at you until you did what she wanted. She wouldn't tell you, you just had to go try things. Mostly it was attention or walks, sometimes it was food. She's medium fluffy here. I didn't know where this was, at first. I didn't recognise the walls. This is in the visitor room of the mental health ward where I stayed for a month after the 2019 general election. She came in to see me. She's sitting so nicely in the strange place. Being such a good girl.

She was my dog. She didn't start off that way, she only came to me late. But for eight years she was my best friend in the whole world. I loved her so much.
Jingles sat next to me on the couch, cuddled up, looking at me. She is fluffy. JJ resting her head on my shoulder. I'm laid down on the couch, leaning towards her. She has put her head in the crook of my neck and curled up. JJ with her head on my shoulder again. This time she is more sprawled out. JJ sat cuddled up with me. She's looking up towards me while I look at the camera.

She also loved to travel. She loved to go to a place. She loved to leave and go to a new destination. She was an explorer. She could walk for hours. Even at the end when she had hip problems and was slow, she never stopped wanting to walk.
JJ on the bus in York. She was a good public transport dog and loved to look out of the windows. JJ looking out of a bus or train window, I can't remember. She's sat on my lap with my arm around her. JJ in the back of a car, with her paw up on my shoulder. She loved to be in a car. She would always want to drive. When she knew we were getting close to a destination, she would whine and bother us to get there quicker. She would always be so excited to get to a place she knew and loved. JJ at the beach. She hated wearing anything except her collar but towards the end I started getting paranoid about visibility and made her wear this hi vis harness. She never wanted to put it on but always ended up not caring once it was on. The little walk routine of her running away when I got it out. In this photo she is frolicking on a cold beach in Northumberland. We had just been on a family holiday and gone on lots of walks. She had struggled with the hard wood floors in the Airbnb but that never bothered her - it just meant she had to get her butler (me) to lift her up the stairs.

I've had the awful realisation that I moved in here with JJ. This house has always been the house she lives in with me. I've never known it without her. It's never not been hers too.
JJ when she was younger and could still jump up on the bed. She would come and cuddle with me under the covers. In this photo she is nestled up beside me in bed, my arm is around her and she has her head on my shoulder. In later life I got various ramps and steps but she was always very suspicious of them. Jingles the year we had a big snowy whiteout. She has her face caked in snow and is looking up at the camera with her usual "what?" expression. JJ curled up asleep in a duvet on the bedroom floor. This very quickly became her regular bed. I just pushed it into the corner, and my old duvets would be where she slept on a night. She was not a sleep in the same bed dog, she wanted her space, but she was definitely a sleep in the same room dog. Not necessarily cuddly, unless she was in the mood, but always close by. JJ more recently. On the pink blanket. What's jumping out in these photos is how little I've changed the house. It's just never been a priority. Always a "one day I'll get round to it" project. Having a dog with a tendency to throw up meant I never really saw the need to replace the ratty old carpet, because why bother. The couches are still comfortable. The blankets are hers. Why get rid? Why do anything different? And now there's going to be the biggest difference in the world.

She was my very closest friend in the whole world. There will never be another dog like her. She is an invaluable loss in my life. I miss her so much.

She was never a swimmer and wouldn't go above her ankles, but she loved playing on the beach. She loved going anywhere, really. She wanted to walk and to be outside, she wanted to be going, to be doing. Jingles in her blankets on the sofa again, wrapped up, just a fuzzy head poking out.

Tonight at 3am, Jingles went to sleep for the last time. A tumour in her abdomen was bleeding and she had started to seize. We made the decision to let her go. I got to say goodbye, and stroke her ears, and tell her she was a good dog, right to the end. I will miss her immensely.
A photo of Jingles taken this morning before I left for work. She is wrapped up in all the blankets that she slept on when she was on the couch. One is blue tartan, the other leopard print. She is resting her head in the palm of my hand. The last photo I took of her while she was still alive. She had just got back from the vet where she had 1 litre of fluid drained. At this point we still thought it was the heart condition. We knew we were on a timer, but thought we would have a year. She ate, she drank, she was not in the best mood but she was comfortable. I brought her upstairs. She had the first seizure at 1:30. 3 more before we got to the emergency vet. By 3am she was gone. Jingles 8 years ago, just after she moved in with me. She is incredibly fluffy here. Her personality was always very apparent. She suffered no fools, always knew what she wanted. She was in charge, I was just the employee. Jingles on the couch wrapped in another of her blankets. This one is bright pink. She is looking out at the camera from underneath it. For all her sternness, she was a sweet and cuddly dog, and she was always so pleased to have me home. I believe I gave her a good life. I tried my best.

How does this analysis get impacted if the shooter was a Groyper?
A cartoon explaining groypers: Groypers are an ultra nationalist neo nazi group born out of the 2010s meme culture. They are led by Nick Fuentes who in 2019 started what was dubbed the Groyper wars. They targeted the left but also mainstream conservatives. Charlie Kirk was targeted because they consider him a fake conservative. Groypers use progressive symbols as a deliberate strategy to confuse people about their actual beliefs. "Bella ciao" was chosen as one of the theme songs of the Groyper wars. The other two bullet messages - "hey fascist catch" and "notices bulge owo what's this" are references to the game Helldivers 2 and a hate meme used to target furries. Tyler Robinson is a soldier in the Groyper wars who has fallen so far into internet culture most people can't even recognise it.
