Black-crowned Night Heron is official #bird of City of Frederick, chosen after a public voting contest. The selection of a bird rep was inspired by Frederick’s designation as a Bird City, an effort led by Bird City MD Coordinator Pamela Kellett & MBCP board member Mike Spurrier.

🏠There’s a new home ready for an American Kestrel pair to use during next year’s breeding season. 🪺 Installed today at Serenity Ridge Natural Burial Cemetery, we’re grateful to be partnering with folks like them across the state to support this declining #bird species.

Chet Anderson was a veterinarian serving horse farms in Central Maryland for over 40 years. He used his connections with landowners to help our Farmland Raptor Program (FRP) set up nest boxes for American Barn Owls.
