Not sure why some are criticising Starmer for not securing a trade deal while trying to get support for Ukraine. Trump is like a volatile toddler who’ll pinball off in another direction when the next distraction comes along. Starmer achieved some temporary calm. That’s the best he could hope for.

This thing with Russia and trump would be the perfect excuse for labour to take another look and implement something similar, call it a defense tax and hammer anyone who opposes it as unpatriotic
