That sounds awful! There are some pain relieving mouthwashes (I’ve used Orajel brand but I know there are others) that might help, but Rx chlorhexidine mouthwash has definitely been the most effective at staving off flare ups (gingivitis or canker sores). Have you tried any topicals yet?

Depending on the specific source of the pain (teeth vs gums), alternating hot and cold compresses (I literally bought this silly looking head strap for it) might offer a bit of relief. And if it’s gum stuff I’m happy to help share what helped me. I hope you feel better soon (ideally for free lol) 🫂❤️

(Real talk, tooth pain/infections suckkkk and I’m so sorry. I had bad pregnancy gingivitis with my son and the oral surgeon reassured me that our immune systems are very good at encapsulating and pushing infections out of our gums, which helped a bit with the anxiety but the pain still made me cry)

Having experienced this before, allow me to assure you that sleeping will help your immune system if it is germ-related, and you can call your dentist when you’re still alive in the morning ❤️ (in case your brain needs a fellow adult to tell you “out loud” over Bluesky that you’re not dying lol)
