Libraries are great. Get a card and see if your library works with apps like Libby and Hoopla that allow borrowing digitial media. There’s even an app called Kanopy for streaming movies free.
If you want to read a new book coming out but don't want to buy it, a great thing you can do is ask your local library to order it. The more requests they get, the more likely they are to acquire it and then lots of people will get to read it who othewise wouldn't.

My goal is to get a Commodore 64 fully resuscitated by the new year. This one has a curious hack off the keyboard to an external DB25 (glued with alien saliva it seems)
Wonder if it was an early hack to type on multiple systems at once?

fluxfox can now visualize Amiga floppy disks in flux formats (SCP, Kryoflux, or MFI)
This is a representation of the decoded MFM data - but not yet interleaved together as the blitter would do, so the Amiga's interesting odd/even bit encodings make for some cool patterns.

Deleted my Twitter accounts a while ago, but just deleted Threads as well (you can now delete your Threads profile without deleting Instagram). Bluesky is just far and away the leader!

When life gives you lemons, make lemon garlic salmon. You’ll need salmon, lemons, garlic and butter. Melt the butter, crush the lemon and garlic through it, pour over the salmon, and grill. Top with parsley and dill.

I sold my original Amiga 500 to get an Amiga 2000, and this was a replacement for my partner we bought in college that I since restored. Surprisingly the hard drive was fine and booted up, and all the installed software and data was intact.

Booted my 40 year old DEC VT220 terminal. Many memories of using this (or the more amazing VT320) in college to write Fortran and Pascal programs for classes. #retrotech
