Economics aside, I despair of the boilerplate pieties that Reeves uses to explain the political purpose behind her growth plan. "Wealth created and wealth shared"; "we will have succeeded when working people are better off"; the goal is "next generation with more opportunities than the last".

Overdue reform to feudal leasehold laws good example of why everything takes so long to get done: consultation paralysis. The new legislation may be needed-but holding another consultation *next* summer? Too much consultation (which protects vested interests) one of the big problems with our system.

Just read Patriot (Alexei Navalny). He was such an inspiration. His inherent belief in his country’s goodness and his admirable yet unassuming bravery in fighting Putin is incredible. It reads very raw, written in the present tense, knowing he’s no longer with us.
