Love seeing people still having this deep appreciation for the cinematic platformer genre.
I wrote a comprehensive (and now very outdated) article on the genre a decade ago and I can see they've touched on some of the same early games (like Dark Castle), good research!

Silksong's beautiful soundtrack, especially the Choral Chambers theme has this haunting and very catchy tune, which very much reminded me of early 2000s eurodance with the key and chord progression.

Apparently a new collection of classic C64 games from Cosmi is coming out soon on Steam called Cosmi: Forbidden Forests, but the interesting bit is that it includes a remake of the original Forbidden Forest in a medieval manuscript artstyle which is oddly quite fitting
