I really do like Murakami's 1Q84... But I've been slowly grinding through it for 5 years behind everything else like it's some monumental mission that must be accomplished no matter what it takes.

Great food, great friends, and a brutal judo workout... Can't really ask for better on a July 4 weekend! Especially while the country turns against its own purported values. Appreciate the people that still make life good. 😊

Faux wood paneling and sharing a free shot with the bar tender are solid indicators of a good Boston bar. I love post-judo social hour(s).

It was wonderful to train last night with our #judo guest, the incredible Friba Rezayee. Not only the first Afghan woman to ever compete in the Olympics, but a true trailblazer and champion for all women. On top of all that, she's simply a delightful person. It was an honour to have her on our mats!

It's been one week today, and there has STILL been no reason given for Rumeysa Öztürk's kidnapping by ICE. This country grows more unconscionable by the day.
Still very proud of the organizers and thousands who showed up in Somerville in less than 24 hours to support her and make our voices heard.
