There is a type of negligence that can lead to criminal charges. Maybe this fits. It is the theory behind DUI homicide law. The drunk driver did not intend to kill anyone but nevertheless can be charged due to his reckless indifference to human life in driving drunk.

Shouldn’t the Good family sue Ross in civil court? He apparently owns a house worth approximately 3/4 million. Your thoughts?
