Sometimes you get high and start waxing idiotic about how The Simpsons is about the journey from Judaism ("Abraham" Simpson) to Hellenism ("Homer" Simpson) and then finally to Christianity ("Bartholomew" Simpson) and then someone tells you to shut the fuck up, and they’re right to do so.

I don't have many elitist tendencies, but one hill I will die on is that the best way to experience Homer is in the original Greek/4:3 aspect ratio

Alcinous raising taxes so he and his friends can give a random dude who just spent hours lying to him a bunch of fancy gifts. Phaeacians need to revolt imo

Met a dog in the elevator and his name was Jude, so I said "hey Jude" and then I laughed, and his people laughed, and the dog didn't laugh cuz he doesn't know who the Beatles are.
Overall, 10/10 elevator ride, would do again.

Reading the Iliad, every time Nestor tells a story from his youth, all I can do is picture Abe Simpson rambling. I know Nestor is supposed to be a well-respected elder, but his stories have big "I was wearing an onion on my belt, as was the style at the time" energy.

Trying to find a clip from a specific Simpsons episode so I searched the title of the episode, and soon as I hit search on "Homer's Odyssey" I realized I'm an idiot

The Leafs remain the Leafs and the Sens looked respectable against the best team in the league. Could have been a worse opening night!

The funniest parts of the Iliad are when soldiers go on massive monologues in the middle of battle. Aeneas tells Pandarus to stop Diomedes in book 5, and Pandarus replies with a tangent about his father's horses. A+ humour. Homer was the first comedian.
