james bond movies don't actually have to be grounded and gritty, that was a decision they made for one segment of the franchise but you can wash your hands of that and do a new thing. you don't actually have to acknowledge the previous movie at all if you don't feel like it.

it won't stop ice, but ice doesn't wear standard uniforms and could more easily be mistaken for someone wearing tactical gear for fun. if someone has concerns about ice in the area they should not have to stop to guess whether they're looking at an agent or a civilian in a costume.

i think tactical/police cosplay is generally a bad idea at large events like mff anyway. if there is an actual police presence i want to be able to clock that immediately and not have to think twice about it- in case of an actual emergency or if theoretically i had drugs on me.
