Mischievous side of a veteran businessman and Healthcare VC. Too many red and blue clients i can't risk offending, so I need to stay anonymous....
U.S. takes position against value for money in drug pricing And you wonder why we pay so much. The pols posture but always fold in the end

"The U.S. ambassador has pressed Britain’s drug-pricing framework, warning that the “value for money” system risks driving away pharma" @statnews.com

you know how bad things are?

91yr old Chuck Grassley is the first person in the chain of command (4th) who you'd bet might do something to address this cluster

Is the report Musk is soon to leave government the true Liberation event Today?

The promise of AI is knowledge expansion, not today but coming soon

we need to redesign away from single human experts to AI driven expertise, giving better care to far more people at far lower costs.

doctors are as endangered as any other profession, maybe more. only question is, how fast?

Problem 2 - knowledge explosion

Expanding info means it is humanly impossible to keep up. Head of oncology at a top 5 system says all he sees are lung cancer patient and he can't stay current, impossible for a community doctor. And data shows they aren't

the doctor/expert model is broken 3/4

Problem 1 - no core productivity

a major specialty group I work with reports that doctors are covering the same number of people per doctor as 30+ years ago.

productivity improvements are inherent in mitigating cost increases. health care hasn't found an answer 2/4

Health care requires more than 'a concept' its bankrupting too many and costs are pressuring governments and private businesses

some of it is demographics, older people on average require more care, and poor life style choices

but they system has two fatal flaws that must be corrected: 1/4

Only two Americans have ever threatened Canada's independence:

Benedict Arnold and Donald Trump

if you think Trump is unstable now, wait until the economy craters because of his foolishness

he can't bluster, lie or deflect rising prices, declining stocks and soaring interest rates

crazy 'strawberries' level paranoia is coming, backed by military deployed to enforce his alternate reality

Republican House passes a budget framework adding $19T to the national deficit and targets $2T is spending cuts and its not even trending?

A life reminder

A good friend in mid 50's, overweight with high cholesterol, decided last year to stop taking his meds and do muscle building drugs instead 'because the internet'.

Today he is having major heart surgery.

It should go ok but will impact the rest of his life.

This holiday season i pass along the wisdom of my great, great grandmother who wrote as the first line of all her Christmas recipes:

'Fill the cook with 3oz of Scotch'

Trump is just realizing he's empowered a monster: 'President' Musk. Congressional Republicans are more afraid of Musk's unlimited wealth and the power of his tweet machine than aging, term-limited Trump

Similarly, its easier to scapegoat drug dealers then face why so many citizens seek such an escape. We will keep losing the war on drugs so long as the only government actions are publicity grandstands focused on Mexican cartels rather than our social ailments.

Why doesn't everyone realize that the first actions of MAHA will be to restrict/eliminate/alter popular foods like sugary soft drinks (Coke, Pepsi), chicken nuggets, fries, candy and chips?

Americans are choosing to be unhealthy and then scapegoat - the ultimate reward of freedom
